Masters of Weddings issue 6 from Studio Magazines – Featured!

I recently had the privilege of being invited to showcase my work in Issue 6 of “The Masters of Weddings” magazine. This Masters series is produced by the prestigious Studio Magazines.

To quote Studio Magazines ; “Masters of Weddings is an Annual, National publication showcasing the creme de la creme of the Australian bridal industry. Presented in a stunning high-quality coffee-table edition, The Masters of Weddings contains a select offering of ‘invitation-only’ bridal industry leaders – from gown couturiers and photographers to jewellers, reception venues, florists, stationers, wedding coordinators and caterers.”

I really enjoyed photographing The Wedding of Chrismin and Nicholas on Saturday, here is a preview of their day. Their wedding was held at Jacobs Creek Retreat, which is a gorgeous location.

First Place WPPI !

Some exiting news, one of my images picked up 1st place in the recent WPPI (Wedding & Portrait Photographers International) competition. Considering there was 3200 international entries, I am really happy to have been awarded 1st place in the Photojournalism category.

Wow, what a great few days it has been. It sounds like a bit of a cliche, but what an amazing industry and community of professional, world class image makers we have in Australia. The final Awards dinner last night just confirmed this for me. Our industry is constantly changing, and has been through some big changes over recent years. What stays the same however, is the passion and commitment shown by members of the AIPP to push themselves and others in creating incredible images in all photography categories. I know I have been inspired to continue to push myself and create images which haven’t been seen before.

Over the course of the judging in the Wedding category, I am thrilled to have been awarded four Silver Awards for my four wedding prints. To receive an award for all of my prints in one year is a first for me.
I also gained enough points to be granted the title of “Associate AIPP”.

I am really looking forward to the 2012 Australian Professional Photography Awards!

It is a beautiful day here in Sydney for the start of the Australian Professional Photography Awards. Pretty much the Oscars of Australian Professional Photography. Looking forward to the wedding judging later today.

Happy New Year Everybody!

What a great year 2010 was, I was fortunate enough to be able to document this moment in time for some beautiful families and be a part of many amazing, diverse wedding days.

The last few months have been a busy time for our studio, with three weddings over the Christmas period alone, and a very busy lead up to Christmas. I am looking forward to posting some new weddings soon and some fantastic Engagement Sessions.

I really appreciate it when couples take the time to send a note after their wedding, it really means a lot to me.

Sarah & Zac had a beautiful, laid back, fun wedding earlier in the year and had their reception at The Lane in Hahndorf.
